Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has described the team’s 2-2 draw against Manchester United at Anfield as a missed opportunity in their pursuit of the Premier League title.
The Reds initially recovered from Lisandro Martinez’s opener with goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah to lead 2-1. However, a late equaliser from Amad Diallo ensured that Manchester United secured a point, denying Liverpool a chance to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher expressed disappointment with Liverpool’s performance, especially after Arsenal’s result the previous night.
Carragher stated, “It will feel like an opportunity lost for Liverpool,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.

“They will have seen Arsenal’s result last night and expected to come into this game and win.
“There was too much of a feeling coming into the game that Liverpool would whack Manchester United aside. People were talking about how many goals they were going to score. But it wasn’t to be,” he added.
The result marked the second consecutive season Manchester United has avoided defeat at Anfield.
