Former Real Madrid goalkeeper, Kiko Casilla, has advised the club to engage with star player Vinicius Jr. regarding his reported interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.
Casilla emphasised that it would be crucial for the club to discuss the offers before rejecting them, especially if the Brazilian forward is unhappy in Spain.
Speaking to AS, Casilla suggested that Real Madrid should first ask Vinicius about his intentions, as holding onto a dissatisfied player could harm the team.
While Casilla remains unsure of the validity of the Saudi offers, he believes that it is important for the club to at least inquire whether Vinicius is open to considering the deal.
Casilla remarked, “If I were the club, I would ask the player. If you have a player who wants to leave, you have to let him go.
“Otherwise, it would be detrimental to the team. I don’t know if the offer is real, but the first thing is to ask him if he wants to listen to the offer or not.
“Now, if I were a player, I would say no. I would stay. I respect the Arab league, but you are at Real Madrid, you are a flagship, young, and you still have many years to give joy. They could come to you again in five years with that offer. You have to stay.”
Reports have surfaced in both Europe and Asia indicating that Vinicius Jr. and his teammate Rodrygo are being courted by Saudi clubs, who are reportedly prepared to offer significant wages to bring the Brazilian duo to the Pro League.
