Pastor Abel Damina of Power City International, in a controversial sermon, has openly criticized the Catholic Church for deliberately discouraging its members from reading the Bible to maintain control over their congregation.
“If the Catholic Church encouraged their members to read the Bible, nobody would be there now. They know that if there are people who read the Bible carefully, all that thing they are doing will be exposed.
“So they make sure they discourage them from reading. Only what the father says is final. That’s why if you engage them, they can’t engage properly in Bible discussion.
Damina specifically called out the Catholic tradition of the Eucharist, where bread is consecrated as the body of Christ. Mocking the rituals, he said, “When the father does those kintus, muntus, kuntus, and that Christ will stop everything he is doing and travel into that bread to be offered again, to die on the cross, and that in every service, Christ is dying.
“And every time he dies, the only difference between the other one and this one is that this one is bloodless. That’s another gospel.
“When the Bible says another Christ, that is another Christ. No wonder their priests are called another Christ. Altar Christos, their priest is another Christ. So when Jesus said, Another Christ shall arise, that is where the another Christ is arising,” Damina said.

He urged his listeners to help free people from deception and save them from what he believes is a path to hell.
“We have a lot of people to free from deception because if we don’t free them, they’re on their way to hell,” Damina said.
