Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has directed all workers in government institutions, ministries, boards, and agencies to submit their certificates for verification or risk losing their October salaries.
The directive was issued through a statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, which stated that the verification exercise is intended to eliminate unqualified individuals from the workforce, thus creating opportunities for younger, qualified candidates.
“This exercise is not intended to witch-hunt anyone but rather to ensure sanity in the system,” the governor said, warning that failure to comply will result in the forfeiture of October salaries until the certificates are submitted.
Governor Fintiri reassured workers that they will not be denied their salaries if they comply with the directive by submitting their certificates before the end of October.
He further stressed that the civil service should prioritize honesty and scholarship rather than becoming a haven for individuals lacking the required qualifications.
“These issues must be addressed. The service should be a haven for scholarship and honesty, rather than a haven for misfits,” Governor Fintiri added.
