A large group of children aged 10 to 17 joined a nationwide protest in Maiduguri, Borno State, yesterday, defying threats and intimidation from police.
Under heavy security, the children, along with other protesters, demonstrated on the major Kano road in the Bulunkutu area, voicing their dissatisfaction with the Tinubu administration.
The children carried placards with messages such as “End the Bad Governance,” “Bama so (We don’t want),” and “We are hungry.”
The protests led to the erection of roadblocks, preventing vehicular movement and directing Keke Napep riders to join the demonstration.
The protests gained momentum around 9:00 am, with demonstrators urging Tinubu to resign.
The protests impacted local businesses, causing filling stations and petty traders to close, while commuters were left to walk due to blocked roads.
