A Chinese supermarket located in Abuja is facing criticism after reports emerged that it denied entry to Nigerian customers, claiming the establishment was exclusively for Chinese citizens.
According to an eyewitness, Tosin Olugbenga took to his X account and made a now-deleted video, narrating that he visited the supermarket after seeing it advertised online. However, upon reaching the entrance, security personnel informed him that the establishment was exclusively for Chinese customers and denied him access.
He said, “Wonders shall never end. There is this Chinese supermarket I saw online, they have Chinese stuff inside like food, ramen, and other things.
“ I went there to check it out and on going there, at the gate, the security people told me the supermarket is strictly for Chinese people, if you are Nigerian, you can’t go inside or buy anything.
“This supermarket is in Abuja, in Nigeria, and a Nigerian cannot enter. This is a joke, that means a Chinese guy has more rights than you here in Nigeria because he can enter anywhere he wants, and go everywhere, but as a Nigerian, there are places you can’t enter in Nigeria.
“Go and try it in China and see, open a place and say that China citizens cannot enter and see what they will do to you.”
This is a developing story, more updates will be provided as details emerge.
