BREAKING: Federal Court Allows Trump to Remove Thousands of USAID Staff

On Friday, a federal judge allowed the Donald Trump administration to move forward with its plan to dismiss thousands of employees from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

S. District Judge Carl Nichols lifted a temporary restraining order, clearing the way for a major reduction in USAID’s workforce.

The ruling requires employees stationed overseas to return to the U.S. within 30 days at the government’s expense, leaving only a limited number of staff members abroad.

The decision comes after unions representing the affected employees filed a lawsuit, arguing that the swift downsizing of the agency left some international staff without access to emergency communication systems.

This was particularly concerning for those in politically volatile countries like Congo, where there are risks of violence.

Judge Nichols determined that the unions’ claims must be addressed under federal employment regulations rather than through district court proceedings.#Trump#USAID
