JUST IN: Appeal Court Affirms Ahmadu Fintiri’s Election as Adamawa Governor

In a decisive ruling today, the Court of Appeal in Abuja has upheld the victory of Ahmadu Fintiri, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the duly elected governor of Adamawa State.

The court dismissed the case brought by Senator Aisha Dahiru Binani from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Fintiri’s closest challenger.

Senator Binani contested the outcome of the March 2023 polls, citing widespread irregularities and non-compliance with the electoral act.

Subsequently, she petitioned the Adamawa State Governorship Electoral Petitions Tribunal, seeking to nullify Fintiri’s victory. However, the Tribunal, in its October ruling, affirmed Fintiri’s election.
