The Court of Appeal, on Friday, affirmed the electoral triumph of Sheriff Oborevwori, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, in the Delta State governorship poll conducted on March 18.

This verdict follows nearly two months after the Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal had already upheld Sheriff’s victory.

The three-member tribunal, led by Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu, dismissed a petition lodged by former Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, representing the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The tribunal reasoned that the petition lacked substantiated allegations, emphasizing its lack of merit and speculative nature.
