The Chief Registrar of the Court of Appeal, Umar Bangari, addressed the recent controversies surrounding the Kano Governorship Election judgment.
Contrary to speculations, he emphasized that the court’s decision to oust Governor Kabir Yusuf remained valid. Bangari attributed the confusion to a typographical error within the judgment, reassuring Nigerians that it didn’t alter the court’s findings and conclusions.
He stated that the rectification of the error awaits a formal application from involved parties, citing the authority granted by Order 23 Rule 4 of the Court of Appeal Handbook.
