Appeal Court Thrashes PDP’s Petition Against Alex Otti For Lack Of Merit

In a recent development, the Appeal Court has dismissed the petition filed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its gubernatorial candidate, Mr. Okey Ahiwe, challenging the victory of Dr. Alex C. Otti of the Labour Party (LP) in the Abia State Governorship election.

They ruled that the petition lacked merit, delivering a blow to the PDP’s efforts to contest the election results.

The PDP and Mr. Okey Ahiwe had sought to challenge the legitimacy of Dr. Alex C. Otti’s victory, alleging irregularities in the electoral process.

However, the Appeal Court thoroughly examined the case and concluded that there was insufficient evidence to substantiate the claims made by the petitioners.
