
Thousands of supporters and party members flooded the streets of Benin City on Saturday as Olumide Akpata, the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming election in Edo State, led a Fitness Walk.
The event, which showcased Akpata’s popularity and grassroots support, saw participants marching side by side through the Ancient City of Benin.
In a statement shared on social media, Akpata expressed deep humility and gratitude for the overwhelming turnout. He highlighted the importance of grassroots engagement in driving political transformation and reiterated his commitment to bringing positive change to Edo State.
Akpata stated, ”I joined members of the Labour Party, Obidients family and thousands of supporters as we walked side by side on the streets of the Ancient City of Benin on Saturday, our footsteps echoing our unwavering commitment to bring about positive change to our beloved Edo State.
”I am deeply humbled by the overwhelming support and enthusiasm displayed by the members of the Obidients family who organized the Fitness Walk and gratified by the presence of our numerous supporters and Party members who came out in their large numbers.
”Rest assured, the journey continues, and together, we will march to our destination, Dennis Osadebey Avenue, and pave the way for a prosperous and inclusive Edo State where every citizen can thrive,” he added.
