In a recent development, the Coalition of Civil Society Organisation for Democracy has urged the Inspector-General of Police to promptly arrest Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the NNPP.
The group, during a press conference in Abuja, accused Kwankwaso of orchestrating plans to “set Nigeria on fire” in the aftermath of the Appeal Court’s ruling that ousted Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano.
According to the coalition, he is alleged to be the mastermind behind sponsored protests and the mobilization of “unscrupulous persons aimed at insulting Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
The group stated, “The Kwankwasiya leader is on a mission to revenge his failed attempt to join President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet. It is not a secret that Kwankwaso lobbied the president through all means to reap where he did not sow before Tinubu formed his cabinet but all his attempts failed.

“As a former governor and presidential candidate, it is wrong for him to go and mobilize people to be insulting the president and discredit all his achievements so far because his party lost Kano State.
“The time to arrest Kwankwaso is now. We’re therefore calling on the Inspector-General of Police to rise up to his responsibility and declare Kwankwaso wanted and arrested,” they emphasised.
The former governor has not yet reacted to these allegations as at press time.
