Customs Seizes Ammunition, Hands Over Suspects, Firearm To Police

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Port Harcourt Court Area 11 Command, handed over two suspects, along with a pistol and 9mm ammunition, to police on Friday.

This event took place at the command’s corporate office in Onne, Rivers, and was accompanied by a remarkable announcement of their remarkable financial achievements.

The Command’s Comptroller, Baba Imam, addressed the media and declared their impressive revenue generation, stating that between January and October, they generated a staggering sum of over N246 billion.

He attributed this remarkable success to the transformation of mindset resulting from the training and retraining of officers, along with the provision of adequate logistics and incentives to enhance their service.

Moreover, the officers of the area command seized nine containers with a duty-paid value exceeding N1.16 billion.

These seizures were the result of contraventions of import prohibition laws, and they included a wide range of items such as 724 bales of used clothing, 1,805 used tires, four vehicles used to conceal 76.9kg of special cannabis (marijuana), and 2,070 cartons of tomato paste, among various other goods.
