Biliamin Oba, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, has advised Nigerians to reduce their expenses in response to the Nigeria’s current economic difficulties.
Speaking at the 2024 International Youth Day event organized by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Chapter in Badagry on Tuesday, Oba emphasised the need for collective effort during these challenging times.
Oba, a former Chairman of NYCN Lagos, highlighted the significant rise in transportation costs and the overall cost of living. He urged Nigerians to economize until the situation improves.
He stated, “We need to start cutting our costs, pending the time things will stabilise.
“Everything has increased, transportation costs and standard of living have skyrocketed.
“We have to reduce costs. The present situation has become a burden on us, so we have to be economical.
“I am very sure Bola Tinubu has a great plan for this country and Sanwo-Olu is also working round the clock to ensure Lagos remains the best place for all and sundry,” he added.
He praised Ashade Abdulsalam for organizing the event aimed at empowering the youth in the council.
