The Aliko Dangote Foundation has extended a generous hand to support vulnerable communities in Lagos State, donating a substantial quantity of 80,000 bags of 10kg rice.
Jubril Gawat, the Special Adviser on New Media to the Lagos State Governor, took to his social media platform on Wednesday to reveal this significant contribution.
The donation was formally announced during a ceremony held at the Lagos House in Ikeja, where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Aliko Dangote, the founder and chairman of Dangote Group, and Femi Otedola, Chairman of First Bank of Nigeria Holdings Plc, graced the event with their presence.
In a caption accompanying the event photos, Gawat emphasized the collective effort, stating, “Governor of Lagos State, Mr #jidesanwoolu, the founder and Chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote #AlikoDangote, and Chairman, First Bank of Nigeria Holdings Plc, Mr Femi Otedola #realFemiOtedola gathered at the Banquet Hall, Lagos House, Ikeja for the rice distribution flag-Off through the Aliko Dangote Foundation #AlikoDangoteFdn.”

This commendable initiative by the Aliko Dangote Foundation echoes its ongoing commitment to alleviating food insecurity nationwide.

The foundation’s food intervention program, inaugurated in Kano State and subsequently expanded, is set to distribute over one million bags of 10kg rice across all 774 local government areas spanning the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory, ensuring widespread assistance to those in need.
