Obiaraeri Nnaemeka, a Financial Engineer, Investment Banking Executive, Development Economist and Volunteer Change Agent, has accused defecting governors, senators, and other political actors of fleeing to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as being driven by their desire to plunder the commonwealth of Nigerians with hindrance.
In a post on his X account, he said the trend of politicians abandoning opposition parties for the APC is not driven by ideology or governance goals, but by a desire to abuse state institutions in their favour.
“THE MASS DEFECTION IS SIMPLY DRIVEN BY THEIR DESIRE TO CONTINUE TO LOOT AND PROTECT THEIR LOOT UNHINDERED AND UNQUESTIONED.
“The bitter truth is that they are all safer with him in charge in Aso Rock.
“As long as they are in APC and don’t challenge him, they are allowed to just dey steal dey go.
“This is their major motivation. It’s all about self-preservation and loot protection… Naija is gone …. chai”.
In recent weeks, several high-profile defections have rattled opposition parties.
