Defence HQ Unveils Names of Top Terrorists Figures Slain in Northern Nigeria

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has unveiled the identities of terrorist kingpins who met their demise in various operations across northern Nigeria.

These high-ranking terrorists were neutralized during separate military campaigns carried out between January and March 2024.

Among the notable figures disclosed by the DHQ is Abu Bilal Minuki, alias Abubakar Mainok, who held the position of Head of Is-Al Furqan Province within the ISGS and ISWAP factions.

Additionally, Haruna Isiya Boderi, a notorious terrorist operating in the Birnin Gwari Forest area of Kaduna State and along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway, was successfully eliminated by troops on February 21, 2024.

Further, the DHQ identified other terrorist leaders, including Kachallah Damina, who was neutralized alongside over 50 combatants on March 24.

The list of eliminated terrorist commanders also includes Kachallah Alhaji Dayi, Kachallah Idi (Namaidaro), Kachallah Kabiru (Doka), Kachallah Azarailu (Farin-Ruwa), Kachallah Balejo, Ubangida, Alhaji Baldu, and several others.

During a briefing in Abuja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, revealed these names to journalists.

He underscored the significant achievements of the military during the period, citing a total of 2,351 terrorists killed, 2,308 arrested, and 1,241 kidnapped hostages successfully rescued.
