The National Association of Nigerian Students in Benin Republic issued a statement on Friday, ensuring Nigerian students in the West African nation of swift progress in investigating degree mills.
These mills have resulted in the suspension of degree certificates from Benin Republic, Togo, and other countries.
In a statement released by President Ikenna Favour and provided to our correspondent, the association advised students to disregard misinformation and emphasized the legitimacy of degrees earned from universities in the country.
The Federal Ministry of Education suspended degree certificates from select African countries following an investigative report by Umar Audu, a journalist from Daily Nigerian. Audu’s report uncovered the operations of degree mills in Benin Republic, Togo, and elsewhere.
“We understand your worries, concerns, and the destabilising situation it may have caused, but we assure you that your degrees obtained from your institutions here in Benin Republic are recognised, valid, and respected. “We urge and encourage you to remain focused and prioritise your education over any other thing, having self-determination, and not having anything to be a hindrance to your educational pursuits.
