VIDEO: Wike’s Demolition of Shanties Renders Many Homeless — Nigerians React

The demolition of shanties by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has left many adults and children homeless.

This development comes following Wike’s threat on Sunday to remove all shanties in Abuja. According to him, his decision is a means to ensure security of lives and properties in the country’s capital city.

He added that no amount of blackmail, intimidation or threat from any civil society organisation will prevent the government from doing what is right.

“We have identified areas that pose security threats, like this place that has rail line passing through. If we allow this kind of people to be here, it is a security threat to the operation of our trains and no right thinking government will allow that,” Wike said.

Having made good his promise, in a video by VeryDarkMan on Twitter he revealed the situation of the affected victims.
