Deputy Governor’s Aide Survives Kidnapping Attempt In Lafia

Eshi Auta, an aide to Dr Emmanuel Akabe, the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa, narrowly escaped a kidnapping attempt in Lafia, the state capital.

Sources who spoke to Daily Post confirmed the attack on the Deputy Governor occurred on Wednesday evening when Auta was returning to his residence in the Tudun Kauri locality of Lafia.

The confrontation resulted in multiple injuries for Auta, necessitating urgent care at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH), a medical facility operated by the state.

Fortunately, the injuries sustained were assessed as non-critical, and following prompt medical intervention, Auta was able to leave the hospital.

The incident also led to the loss of Auta’s personal effects, including his mobile phone and other items of value. Authorities are currently investigating the attack, but the perpetrators have yet to be apprehended.

The community remains on high alert as law enforcement seeks to bring the assailants to justice.
