Derby: Arsenal, Tottenham Share Spoils At Emirates

Spurs came back from two goals down to earn a hard-earned point against Arsenal in the North London game on Sunday at Emirates Stadium.

After 26 minutes, Arsenal took the lead when Spurs defender Cristian Romero blocked Bukayo Saka’s shot into his own goal. The game was very intense.

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, made a big choice by keeping David Raya in goal instead of Aaron Ramsdale. He showed his faith by making two great saves from Brennan Johson as the Spurs tried to tie the game.

In the third minute before halftime, when Spurs tied the game, Raya should have done more. He could only block a cross, which let the attack continue. James Maddison then crossed the ball for Son Heung-min to score an assist that tied the game.

After 54 minutes, Arsenal took the lead again when Romero was called for fouling after the video assistant referee stepped in. Saka scored from the penalty spot.

In Ange Postecoglou’s first North London game as manager, Spurs showed how much better they’ve become by scoring right away when Jorginho, who came on at halftime to replace the injured Declan Rice, lost the ball and Maddison played it in to Son for another cool finish.
