In a tragic turn of events, an Israeli bombardment of a hospital in Gaza City has resulted in the deaths of at least 500 Palestinians. The number of fatalities was confirmed by the Gaza Health Ministry, making this one of the bloodiest airstrikes in recent history.
Without prior notice, an attack occurred at the Al-Ahli Arabi Baptist hospital in the centre of Gaza City. Families were being protected by the hospital as Israel continued to strike Gaza. According to the health ministry, there are “hundreds of victims” buried beneath the debris.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) claimed they did not yet have information on the alleged incident. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, a military spokesman for Israel, said: “We will learn more and update the public. I’m unsure whether the attack was an airstrike by Israel.
Following escalating bombardments close to villages in southern Gaza, this horrible tragedy occurred. Israel had already commanded everyone to leave the city and the surrounding areas and move to the southern Gaza Strip.
The growing violence has drawn the serious concern of the international community. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken have agreed to talk about developing a system for distributing supplies to Gaza’s 2.3 million residents.
The world keeps a close eye on the situation as it develops, hoping for an immediate end to the violence.
