A UK-based individual, Ronu Bigot Dipo Awojide, is embroiled in a legal tussle with the Nigerians in the UK Association following allegations made against the group.
In a statement released by the association (NIUK) on X, both its leadership and community members described the allegations as “misleading and false.”
The statement clarified that the community and the association have never received one fund in question since the organization’s incorporation.
Additionally, the leadership asserted that all partnerships involving the association have been conducted transparently and with the full knowledge of the community.
Acting on legal advice, the association has issued a formal notice to Dipo, demanding the following actions:
- The immediate deletion of the alleged false and misleading statements.
- A public apology to the association and the general public via X (formerly Twitter).
The association emphasized that failure to comply with these demands within seven days will prompt them to escalate the matter through legal channels.
In their resolve, the management of the association expressed a commitment to bringing the matter to a “just and logical conclusion.”
