According to APNews, the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, has pledged to uphold Christian principles during his second term in office.

Speaking at a gathering of religious broadcasters, Trump cautioned that the political left seeks to dismantle symbols like crosses.

He implied his commitment to safeguarding the central imagery of the Christian faith.

“Remember, every communist regime throughout history has tried to stamp out the churches, just like every fascist regime has tried to co-opt them and control them.

“And, in America, the radical left is trying to do both,” Trump told hundreds of cheering attendees at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) International Christian Media Convention in Nashville.

“They want to tear down crosses where they can, and cover them up with social justice flags,” Trump added.

“But no one will be touching the cross of Christ under the Trump administration, I swear to you.”

Promising to safeguard the emblem of Christianity, the former president, Donald Trump, recently reassured the National Rifle Association, stating, “No one will lay a finger on your firearms.” This declaration coincides with mounting pressure from prominent conservatives urging Donald Trump to center his potential second term openly around Christian principles.

In the Republican primary, Trump enjoys favoritism as the once-crowded field has narrowed down to him and his former ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley.

The Christian media assembly, where attendees received complimentary red and white baseball caps bearing the inscription “Make America Pray Again,” provided a remarkably supportive environment for the former president.

Donald Trump’s speech, reminiscent more of a rally than a conventional convention address, resonated strongly within the audience.

“The left is trying to shame Christians,” Trump said. “They’re trying to shame us. I’m a very proud Christian.”

Trump consistently rallied the crowd to their feet, frequently highlighting his achievements on abortion, such as appointing three conservative Supreme Court justices pivotal in overturning Roe v. Wade.

However, he conspicuously avoided mentioning the Alabama Supreme Court’s recent ruling, which led providers to halt in vitro fertilization due to embryos being deemed children under state law.

Late Thursday, President Biden’s reelection campaign issued a statement, left blank to underscore Trump’s lack of response to the “Alabama IVF ruling he is accountable for.”

Instead of addressing the Alabama ruling, Trump used his speech to tout his first-term accomplishments in advancing religious freedom, claiming his administration surpassed all predecessors.

He confidently declared the upcoming November election’s enthusiasm surpasses that of both 2016 and 2020, anticipating a remarkable turnout.

Tennessee’s primary, scheduled for Super Tuesday, March 5, may propel Donald Trump closer to securing the Republican nomination amid nationwide voting.

Despite initial reservations from some religious leaders due to Trump’s history, including multiple divorces, they now constitute a steadfast segment of his “Make America Great Again” support base.

Even as Trump’s personal history has become increasingly controversial, marked by recent legal troubles like the New York indictment related to hush money payments to a porn actress, his support remains largely intact.
