Former Everton striker Landon Donovan has criticized Lionel Messi for his actions following Inter Miami’s recent 3-2 loss to Atlanta United in the MLS Cup Eastern Conference Playoffs.
Messi, visibly frustrated after the defeat at Chase Stadium last weekend, walked off the field without shaking hands with the opposition or acknowledging Inter Miami’s supporters.
Donovan expressed his disapproval on the Unfiltered Soccer podcast, stating, “I don’t like that. Just shake their hands and say congratulations. Messi walked right off the field.
“Maybe in the locker room, they came out and said congrats or whatever, and by the way, your fans are out there too, at least congratulate them on a great season and thank them for all the support they have had.”
