Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has said Nigerians should not expect free, fair, transparent, and credible elections in 2027 under Bola Tinubu and the party.

Frank, citing alleged instances of electoral fraud, manipulation, and rigging in Kogi and Imo states, argued that the observed irregularities cast a shadow on the prospect of obtaining credible election results in future exercises.

Furthermore, Frank accused security agencies, tasked with safeguarding voters and apprehending perpetrators of election malpractices, of actively participating in rigging.

He asserted that the police and other security entities now function as a de facto security department within the APC.

“The election has nothing to write home about, and imagine that it was the first set of elections conducted under the watch of Tinubu. What happened in Imo and Kogi is a clear indication of the kind of elections Nigerians will witness in 2027.

“Our electoral system is presently in dire straits under our highly compromised Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which has now graduated from rigging by manipulating the INEC Result View (IReV) portal and the Bi-Modal Voter Accreditation System (BIVAS) to writing results of polling units before the people cast their ballot,” he said.

Frank asserted that the judiciary, in his opinion, had transformed into the legal arm of the APC, and he believed it would legitimize any actions taken by the INEC.
