Borussia Dortmund have parted ways with their manager, Nuri Sahin, following a 2-1 defeat to Bologna in the Champions League.
The club, which reached last season’s Champions League final, currently sits in 13th place in the competition. Additionally, they are 10th in the Bundesliga, 20 points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
Sahin, who was appointed as head coach last summer after Edin Terzic’s departure, expressed his regret in a statement, saying, “Unfortunately, we have not managed to live up to Borussia Dortmund’s sporting ambitions this season.
“I wish this special club all the best,” he added.
