Drone Attack Leaves Russia Energy Site on Fire

Energy sites in Russia’s western Smolensk region were in flames on Wednesday after being hit by Ukrainian drones.

The Governor, Vasily Anokhin made this known on his Telegram handle on Wednesday.

He wrote, “Our region was again targeted by Ukrainian drone attacks. Fires erupted following enemy attacks on civilian energy infrastructure sites.

“As a result of the enemy attack on civilian fuel and energy facilities, fires broke out in the Smolensk and Yartsevo districts”.

Separately, Igor Artamonov, the Governor of the Lipetsk region in Russia’s southwest, said that a drone there fell on an industrial zone. He stated on Telegram that there were no injuries, but nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution measure.

In his words, “The object was isolated, there was no threat of an attack on residential area”.
