DSS Apprehends Boko Haram Member Responsible for Abuja Attacks 

Following repeated assaults on the inhabitants of an estate in Kuchibuyi, Kubwa, Abuja, the Department of State Services (DSS) has successfully apprehended an individual linked to the notorious Boko Haram terrorist group. The capture was confirmed by a high-ranking security official on Saturday, December 9.

The detained suspect, who is believed to have escaped the Sambisa Forest following intense military operations, was seized this past Friday in the vicinity of an estate in Kuchibuyi. Reports from SaharaReporters indicate that local vigilante forces restrained the suspect with chains before transferring him to the DSS headquarters in Abuja for further questioning.

A source within the DSS disclosed that prior to the arrest, several AK-47 rifles and cartridges, typically utilized by estate security personnel, had vanished, raising suspicions of collaboration with the terrorist faction. The suspect is currently under intense interrogation.

According to Politics Nigeria, the residents of Grow Homes Estate, situated along Kuchibiyi, have been persistently targeted by kidnappers, presumed to be affiliated with terrorist groups.

Tragically, one of the estate’s residents, who was recently released from captivity after a hefty N30 million ransom payment, succumbed to the ordeal’s trauma shortly after returning home, as revealed by a representative of the estate association.

On October 28, 2023, at least three individuals from Grow Homes Estate were abducted. The assailants reportedly fled via a bush path connecting the community to a neighboring village, evading capture. The DSS continues to investigate the incidents and the potential connections to the broader terrorist network.
