The Department of State Services (DSS) has taken into custody the President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, on Tuesday at the organization’s Head Office in Nasarawa State.
The arrest was conducted by a joint team of DSS operatives and Nigerian Army soldiers at approximately 3:40 pm.
The arrest was made in connection to the recent establishment of a vigilante group by Miyetti Allah in Nasarawa State known as the Nomad’s Vigilante Group.
The DSS source confirmed that Bodejo’s apprehension was prompted by concerns that the creation of this unregistered group could potentially incite violence nationwide.
According to the DSS source, the Nomad’s Vigilante Group had not been officially registered with any government security agency, including the DSS and the police.
The source told Punch, “Our (DSS) operatives and soldiers of the Nigerian Army stormed the Miyetti Allah’s Head Office in Nasarawa this afternoon, and we’ve arrested their National President, Bello Bodejo, for creating a vigilante group that is not recognised by the government.
“The creation of that nomad’s vigilante group could cause violence in the country. The group was not registered with the DSS, the police, or any other security agency, and the group is not recognised by the Federal Government,” the source disclosed.
