Armed operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) have assumed control of security arrangements at the Supreme Court as the nation awaits a pivotal judgment. The case involves a suit by the Federal Government against Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The highly anticipated judgment, expected to be delivered this morning by the apex court, has prompted heightened security measures. DSS operatives blocked access to the court and the Villa gate, diverting litigants and sympathizers of Nnamdi Kanu.
Even journalists with official Supreme Court accreditation were initially denied entry, requiring intervention from high-ranking court officials to gain access.

The Supreme Court had previously scheduled October 5 for the delivery of judgment on the appeal seeking to compel the Federal Government to release the embattled IPOB leader.
