Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested three individuals suspected of vote-buying during the ongoing governorship election in Edo State.
According to Channels TV, the arrests took place around 10:00 a.m. on Saturday in the Egor Local Government Area.
The EFCC officials detained two men and a woman, but their actions sparked protests from some residents who claimed the suspects were being unfairly targeted.
Ahead of the election, the EFCC had warned political parties against engaging in vote buying.

In a related development, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Frank Mba, announced that the police would deactivate the orderlies and VIP protection for certain individuals, including Adams Oshiomhole, 48 hours before the election.
