Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong has slammed a self-acclaimed ex-security expert, Comrade Muhammad Ali Ringio, following a viral video in which Ringio threatened that Nigerian mosquitoes would kill American soldiers if the United States attempted to invade Nigeria.
In the video, shared widely on X (formerly Twitter), Ringio introduced himself as a former security professional and appealed directly to former U.S. President Donald Trump.
He dismissed claims of religious persecution in Nigeria, insisting that Nigerians of all faiths including Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, and even “Satanists” live lived peacefully together.

Ringio warned Trump that any military intervention would be met with resistance from Nigerian mosquitoes, which he claimed would infect foreign soldiers with malaria.
Ringio also attacked former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General T.Y. Danjuma, accusing him of spreading “blunt and falsified allegations” that the Nigerian Armed Forces were collaborating with bandits.
He described such claims as malicious and insisted that Nigeria’s security agencies are gallant and capable of defending the nation.
Reacting on X, Effiong mocked Ringio’s remarks, writing: “This one is threatening to use mosquitoes to fight American soldiers.
The video has since gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), attracting hundreds of reactions from Nigerians.
Many mocked Ringio’s unusual “mosquito defense” claim, while others expressed concern over the spread of misinformation and the use of exaggerated narratives to defend government institutions.
Analysts say the incident highlights how disinformation and misguided patriotism can influence public perceptions of national security and foreign policy in Nigeria
