Edo 2024: Elections Are Not War, But Opportunities to Present Authentic Leadership — Peter Obi

The presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, Mr Peter Obi has declared that elections are not meant to instigate war but an opportunity to provide authentic leaders.

His statement is coming following the Edo governorship election that will take place on Saturday, September 21.

Obi in a post on his X handle disclosed that as the election day draws nearer, discomforting comments has sprouted out from different corners. While others say it is a do-or-die election, others are of the opinion that they have a packaged leader that will emerge as the winner.

However, Obi noted that Labour Party offer genuine leadership built on competence, capacity and compassion and through it a new Nigeria is possible.

Obi’s post reads,”As campaign for the Edo governorship election on 21st September 2024 comes to an end today, troubling comments continue to emerge.

“One party admits to having packaged fake leaders in the past who knows what they offer now, perhaps expired ones while another insists it is a do-or-die affair.

“At Labour Party, we offer genuine leadership built on competence, capacity and compassion. For us, elections are not war; they are opportunities to present authentic leadership and drive meaningful development. A new Nigeria is POssible!”
