The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Bayelsa State Governor and ex-Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, wanted over an alleged $14.8 million fraud linked to refinery project funds.
In a public notice issued on Monday, Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity at the EFCC, said Sylva is wanted for conspiracy and dishonest conversion of funds provided by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) to Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited for the construction of a refinery.

The anti-graft agency said the notice follows a warrant issued by the Lagos State High Court on November 6, 2025, and urged members of the public with useful information about Sylva’s whereabouts to contact any EFCC office nationwide, or reach the Commission via 08093322644 and info@efcc.gov.ng.
The declaration intensifies scrutiny of the former minister, who has yet to publicly respond to the allegations.
