Tensions flared during a protest as operatives believed to be from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reportedly discharged live bullets at supporters of Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State.
The incident unfolded during a demonstration by pro-Yahaya Bello supporters, according to a report by Daily Independent.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the protest took a violent turn when EFCC operatives intervened, attempting to forcefully disperse the crowd.
The use of live ammunition purportedly triggered fear and chaos among the protesters, escalating the situation’s intensity.

Earlier in the day, a separate group of demonstrators, supporting the EFCC, had staged their protest near the Anti-Graft office headquarters without any reported intervention from security officers.
