Policemen Assigned to Gov Ododo Prevent EFCC Operatives From Arresting Yahaya Bello in Abuja

Police officers assigned to Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State intervened on Wednesday to prevent Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) personnel from apprehending former Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello.

Parallel Facts disclosed that EFCC operatives had surrounded Bello’s residence in Wuse, Abuja.

During the siege at the ex-governor’s Abuja residence, Ododo paid a visit to Yahaya Bello on Wednesday afternoon, accompanied by a group of security personnel.

Sources within the EFCC informed SaharaReporters that officers attached to Governor Ododo obstructed the EFCC personnel from arresting the former governor.

The sources indicated that a potentially violent confrontation was narrowly avoided due to the intervention of the police officers.

“The Inspector General of Police reportedly gave Yahaya Bello more reinforcement through Governor Ododo to thwart his arrest.

“But we’re trying to avoid a bloody clash,” one of the sources said.

SaharaReporters previously revealed that the EFCC successfully located Bello in Abuja by employing clever tactics.

It was discovered that Bello intentionally left his mobile phone at the Government House in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, in an attempt to evade detection in Abuja. However, unbeknownst to him, EFCC operatives were already monitoring the mobile phone of one of his aides, which he had utilized.

Using his aide’s mobile phone signal, the former governor’s whereabouts in Abuja were pinpointed.

“Yahaya Bello left his phone at the Government House in Kogi to avoid being tracked to Abuja.

“But the mobile phone of his aide which he used was already being tracked to where he’s now trapped in Abuja,” a top security source said.
