EFCC Plans to Arrest Ex-Lagos Speaker Mudashiru Obasa on Arrival

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) are reportedly planning to arrest former Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa upon his return to Nigeria from the United States.

Parallelfacts earlier reported that Obasa was impeached in Monday over alleged corruption.

The removal comes barely a month after Obasa was accused of allegedly spending N17 billion to fix a gate that leads to the assembly.

According to a report by Peoples Gazette disclosed that Obasa who in 2020 was investigated for spending N1.1 billion within one week but was let off the hook would not be so lucky this time.

It further disclosed that agents have already compiled their records and built a compelling corruption that Mr Obasa might not be able to wriggle his way out of the allegations and may not be sleeping in his bedroom anytime soon.

“Heavy hammer is waiting to fall on him,” an EFCC source told The Gazette on condition of anonymity because they lacked the authority to comment publicly on an ongoing investigation.
