It’s Unacceptable To Imprison A Man For No Real Offense —IPOB Leader, Ejimakor Tells Nigerian Govt Over Nnamdi Kanu’s Continued Detention

Aloy Ejimakor, the lead counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has accused the Nigerian government of refusing to release Nnamdi Kanu when it’s obvious he’s been detained for no real reason.

Ejimakor said this on his X handle while affirming that it was totally unacceptable for the Nigerian government to imprison Kanu for his ideas and thoughts.

Posting on X, Ejimakor wrote, “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a victim of false imprisonment by the Nigerian State. Period.

“It’s unacceptable to imprison a man not for any real offense but for his thoughts and ideas that the state is seeking to suppress by means of false imprisonment.”

He added that, “The best way of fighting for such a man is to never stop fighting for him. Let him know every day that he is remembered.”

Recall that Kanu has been detained since June 2021, when he was rearrested and repatriated from Kenya to Nigeria.

Kanu was picked up and charged over his agitation for the actualization of Biafra.

The Nigerian government has however, refused to release the IPOB leader despite courts granting him bail.
