US Election: Trump to Defeat Biden in Battleground States—WSJ Poll Reveals

A recent poll reveals that in the crucial battleground states expected to decide their potential 2024 rematch, former President Donald Trump is ahead of President Joe Biden in all but one.

Released by the Wall Street Journal, the survey, conducted with seven months left until the election, indicates Trump holds the advantage over Biden in six out of seven states surveyed: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina.

In North Carolina, Trump leads Biden by six points on a ballot that includes third-party and independent candidates.

Moreover, Trump holds a five-point lead in Arizona, a four-point lead in Nevada, and three-point leads in Michigan and Pennsylvania. In Georgia, the former president edges out Biden by a single point, while they are tied in Wisconsin.

Similar leads were observed when participants were presented with a head-to-head matchup between Trump and Biden. This contrasts with the 2020 election, where Biden narrowly won in most battleground states, except for North Carolina.

However, the survey also reveals that Biden received negative job performance ratings in all seven battleground states, while voters in all states except Nevada view Trump’s tenure in the White House favorably.

Regarding policy issues, respondents trust Trump more than Biden to handle the economy and immigration, while Biden is preferred on the issue of abortion.

The survey also reflects concerns over Biden’s physical fitness, with 48% of voters believing Trump is more fit to serve as president, compared to only 28% who see Biden as having the necessary mental and physical fitness for another four-year term.
