The Emir of Damaturu, Alhaji Shehu Hashimi II Ibn Umar Al-Amin Elkenemi, has urged traders in the state to support the general public by lowering the prices of essential goods.

The monarch expressed his concern over the increasing cost of these vital commodities.

“I want to inform you that we are worried about the rising prices of commodities in the state. I implore the traders to make essential goods more affordable for the general public, especially the less privileged,” he said.

He emphasized that making excessive profits, especially on essential items like food, is morally wrong and urged government officials to keep supporting the less privileged.
