Emir of Zazzau Appoints CBN Deputy Director as Magajin Gari, Turbans Two Others

Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has conferred the traditional title of Magajin Garin Zazzau upon Alhaji Mu’azu Bamalli, a Deputy Director at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The turbaning, prompted by the passing of the late Magajin Gari, Alhaji Mansur Nuhu Bamalli, also saw the installation of Aliyu (Sambo) Nuhu Bamalli as the new Baraden Zazzau and Alhaji Aminu Musa Hassan as the Gado-da-Masun Zazzau.

The new Magajin Gari, Alhaji Mu’azu Bamalli, formerly held the title of Baraden Zazzau, and his appointment comes after the demise of his brother, the former Magajin Gari. Additionally, Aliyu (Sambo) Nuhu Bamalli, the Chief of Staff of the emirate council and a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, has assumed the role of Baraden Zazzau, while Alhaji Aminu Musa Hassan, a staff of the Federal College of Education, Zaria, has taken over as the Gado-da-Masun Zazzau, succeeding his late father.

During the turbaning ceremony, the Emir emphasised the importance of upholding the emirate’s image and respecting its cultural norms and traditions.

Bamalli urged the newly appointed traditionalists to work collaboratively, utilize their experience, and contribute to the progress and development of Zazzau Emirate, Kaduna State, and Nigeria at large.

The Emir also cautioned them against exceeding their responsibilities and emphasised the need to maintain peace, love, and unity among the diverse people of the region.

In response, Alhaji Aminu Musa Hassan expressed his commitment to the Emir and the emirate council, pledging to preserve the traditional heritage and sanctity of the royal dynasty.
