The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has announced another temporary power interruption at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, on Friday.
This aims to prevent the controversy sparked by the recent three-minute power outage at the airport about a week ago.
According to FAAN‘s spokesperson, Obiageli Orah, the latest outage is expected to be brief, lasting only a few minutes.
The agency explained on their website that they are conducting tests on their power equipment to ensure its proper functioning, hence the scheduled power interruption.

The message said: “To serve you better, we’re testing our power equipment at Murtala Muhammed International Airport today. This means the power will be off for a short time this afternoon.”
Recall that travelers had reported a power outage at the International Airport under Bola Tinubu.
A widely circulated video on social media depicted the ordeal faced by travelers and other individuals at the airport as they endured a blackout on Friday night, plunging them into darkness for several minutes.
