Family Members Chained, Starve Son to Death in Nasarawa over Alleged Witchcraft

Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended Hassan Ismail and Mohammed Sani on Monday for their alleged involvement in the death of their son, Mohammed Sani of Agyaragu Tofa.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Shettima Jauro Muhammed, disclosed that the arrest followed credible information indicating that the deceased was tied, locked in a room, and left to starve.

The incident, which occurred last Thursday, prompted swift action from police operatives attached to A Division, Lafia.

Muhammed conveyed that the family members hastily buried the victim in an attempt to evade suspicion.

He stated, “Based on credible information that Mohammed Sani of Agyaragu Tofa was tied on both hands and legs, locked up in a room where he starved to death, and was hurriedly buried by his family members on the allegation of witchcraft, police operatives swung into action.

“The arrested individuals, Hassan Ismail and Mohammed Sani, are currently in custody, with ongoing efforts to apprehend all those involved in what the police commissioner described as a “dastardly act.” #Nasarawa
