Fatal Crash Claims Four Lives on Ogun Expressway

A tragic accident on Friday claimed the lives of four individuals on the Ijebu-Ode-Benin Expressway in Ogun State. The incident, which occurred around 11:40 am near the J3 end of the expressway, involved a Toyota Camry with registration number BDG184FY.

According to reports from the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the vehicle, carrying four occupants, lost control due to excessive speed, somersaulting off the road into a swamp.

In a statement issued by FRSC spokesperson Florence Okpe, it was confirmed that “all the occupants” of the vehicle, consisting of “three male adults and a female adult,” tragically lost their lives in the crash. The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Ijebu-Ode.

CC Anthony Uga, the Sector Commander of FRSC in Ogun State, urged motorists embarking on long journeys to take regular breaks to avoid fatigue and adhere to speed limits. He expressed condolences to the families of the victims and advised them to contact FRSC Ogbere for further information regarding the incident.
