Police Rescue 14 Kidnap Victims in Fierce Gun Battle Near Abuja, Neutralize Criminals

Police operatives from the FCT Command, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, and Rubochi Division Police Headquarters have rescued 14 kidnapped victims in Ukya village near the Nasarawa State border.

Acting on credible intelligence, the combined police team swiftly raided a kidnapper’s den, resulting in a fierce gun battle with the criminals.

According to a statement by SP Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer, the criminals opened fire on the police upon their arrival, sparking a intense gun duel.

In the exchange, one kidnapper was neutralized, forcing the remaining criminals to flee into the nearby forest with various degrees of bullet wounds.

The hostages, fortunately, were rescued unharmed and have been joyously reunited with their loved ones.

The Commissioner of Police for FCT, CP Haruna Garba, expressed his commitment to eradicating criminality in all its forms within the FCT and ensuring peace for all residents.
