A fire outbreak has been reported at the Dangote Refinery just days before its scheduled July operations kickoff.
A video circulating on X platform shows smoke billowing from the refinery, indicating a significant fire.
However, the cause of the fire has yet to be determined, and there are no reports on the extent of the damage or the quantity of property destroyed.
This incident comes shortly after the refinery announced a new start date for the supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), which was moved from June to mid-July.
Aliko Dangote, the President and CEO of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals, attributed the delay to minor setbacks but assured that petrol would be available in the market by the second to third week of July.
