This decision, disclosed in a statement on Tuesday, January 2, and signed by Augustina Obilor-Duru on behalf of the Director Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education, is in response to an investigative report by the Daily Nigerian Newspaper titled “UNDERCOVER: How DAILY NIGERIAN reporter bagged Cotonou varsity degree in 6 weeks,” published last week.

Expressing concern, the federal government cited instances where some Nigerians utilized unscrupulous methods to acquire degrees, aiming to secure job opportunities for which they lack the requisite qualifications.
