Fire Outbreak Averted as Diesel Tanker Goes Up in Flames in Lagos

A tanker carrying diesel caught fire on Monday morning in the Ojota area of Lagos State, causing panic among road users and residents.

The incident occurred at the Ojota inward interchange, where the tanker was heading towards Ketu.

According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), officials from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) arrived at the scene promptly and extinguished the fire.

LASTMA posted a video of the firefighting operation on its X handle, urging road users to be patient and cooperate with the authorities.

“Situation in Ojota is under control as the peddler truck conveying diesel into Ketu that went on fire has been extinguished,” LSFRS also tweeted.

No casualties were reported from the incident, and the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
